FAMILY RETREAT: SOFT TRANSITIONAL

Designing a family-friendly
living area.

For this project, we combined modern elements with a more traditional color palette to create a warm and welcoming family home. Open living spaces, durable materials, and charming décor details make this soft transitional home both stylish and practical for family living.

OBJECTIVE

Our design concept revolved around modern elegance. We curated a palette inspired by coastal tones filled with warm woods, rich textures and blue accents to add warmth and sophistication.

Approach:

Space Layout: We removed the original fireplace to introduce statement windows that now frame the soft morning light, bringing warmth and brightness into the space. By opening the kitchen to the living room, we created a seamless, connected environment where this young family can come together.

Reimagining the Kitchen: The kitchen’s existing layout worked well, and the cabinetry was still in excellent condition. In the spirit of sustainability, we refreshed the space by repainting the original cabinets and pairing them with new quartz countertops—giving the kitchen a timeless update without a full overhaul.

Lighting Design: To create a warm and inviting atmosphere, we incorporated a mix of ambient, task, and accent lighting. Modern cable lighting, an elegant chandelier, and strategically placed table lamps highlighted key areas and added to the overall ambiance.
